Increasing Criminality: CP Garba takes advocacy to Kaduna Mosques, links acts to poor parenting

As criminality and other violent acts increase in Kaduna, the State Police Command Commissioner, Musa Yusuf Garba is taking advocacy to curb the menace to religious houses, while blaming poor parenting as a contributory factor to the acts in the State.

Garba made this assertion while speaking at Yahaya Road Jummaat Mosque on Friday 8th September, 2023 after the congregational prayers where he pleaded with community leaders to take charge of community policing by aiding the security agents with useful information.

The Police Commissioner decried poor parenting where parents and guardians neglect their responsibilities leading their children and wards to falling into crimes and violent acts that endanger the lives and property of the citizenry.

He stressed that a situation where parents and guardians cannot feed, cloth and shelter their dependents, they lose control over them and they end up in crime and criminality.

The Police boss also blamed the non-communal living of the old where everyone cater for everyone and security was everyone business. He stressed that the neglect of the communal living that would have curb many crimes is responsible for non-exposing of people with illicit acts such as drug and other substance peddlers by members of the communities.

Garba stressed that substance abuse is responsible for criminal acts and other violent activities within the communities. He cautioned parents and guardians to be wary of Gods wrath on neglect of parental responsibilities as children are trust by God to them.

He also solicited regular visits to Police Stations by community members to familiarize themselves with activities of the Police and the environment. The warned that any child and ward arrested for any crime, the parents and guardians would also be arrested to face the wrath of the law to serve as deterrent to other neglecting parents.
